Fun fact: my Grandma Marlys' first name was June... and I didn't find that out until way later in life. It always baffled me that she chose Marlys over June...

Anywho... wow - June already! I don't know why it seemed like this past school year went so fast especially since I wasn't in the school. I figured it would drag on and on due to me not being in the midst of the hustle and bustle everyday. I'll be honest, I wasn't too excited to have the girls home again for summer because I was loving my routine, but we've had a pretty good start of summer break.

I feel like the only thing I ever want to rant/vent/talk about is my physical or mental health and this month is no different. Ha! If you follow me on Instagram, I do talk openly about it a lot. Yesterday was not a good day. Seasonal depression is totally a real thing. It was May 31st yesterday and the wind was blowing 50 mph, it was cloudy and was super chilly! I literally got about 4,000 steps in because I was "depressed" about the weather. No sun! I don't do well with no sun.

I wake up this morning and the sun is shining brightly. It still is a little chilly, but when the sun is shining, it makes all the difference in my mood. So far this morning, I've made lunches for bible camp, did a load of laundry, listened to a podcast and caught up on some boutique training classes. It's not even 9AM! I know if I would have moved my body more yesterday I would have felt a thousand times better, but I also thought.... maybe this is what I need - a Netflix marathon of Stranger Things and unlimited amounts of snacks. 😏

This weather is also not doing anything for my excitement about heading to the lake. We have a camper spot at Devils Lake and going there is always the highlight of my summer, but this weather is just making it not sound so ideal. But I know when I get there, I won't want to leave. Planning on maybe heading there this weekend. My son, Brekken, started racing cars and the mom in me feels like I need to attend every one of his races even though I was given permission to skip a few. I am so proud of him and his determination. He basically built his car from the ground up with little to no help except for the thousand of phone calls he made to Will (Baylee's boyfriend/like a second son/experienced racer). Races vs. Lake Time - It's one of those time when I want to make everyone happy, but will end up disappointing someone.

Also, HUGE news about The Foundry! I am SO GRATEFUL for this experience and so thankful to everyone that has reached out and offered their congrats. For those of you that don't know, The Foundry store in Minot has asked me to add to their clothing space. I'm slowly going to be taking that over so I have big things to look forward to in the next few months. The Foundry is the most adorable store on Broadway in Minot. They also have a coffee shop! So many fun and unique makers have their items for sale there. If you have never checked it out, please do so! In the summer, they are open every other weekend - next open weekend is June 9, 10 & 11th!

So although I feel super overwhelmed with everything going on - I am truly blessed and am so thankful for all these things in my life. Now, in an attempt to work on my physical health - I'm off to start a new workout plan... I'll keep you posted on how that goes.

Have a great June and E N J O Y all the little things & every sunny day! ☀️
